Tinder, Hinge, OkCupid, and nearly all popular dating apps are owned by the international conglomerate Match Group, which has forged a significant partnership with OpenAI. The company shared some details, stating that it will provide AI assistance to employees in “tasks related to their work.

The dating giant says it has a long-term plan to integrate artificial intelligence “really into everything” in its applications. Incorporating ChatGPT into its employees’ daily responsibilities marks the first major step towards transforming online dating into an AI-focused business.

The company celebrated its new partnership with a press release from Match Group’s Corporate Communications team. The statement contains quotes that seem to have been written by AI, expressing feelings about corporate strategy as if it had its own emotions.

Tinder introduces a new identity verification system!

According to recent information, Tinder is implementing a new identity verification system to enhance user security.

The deal includes the purchase of 1000 ChatGPT Enterprise licenses for an undisclosed amount. The company plans to use artificial intelligence to eliminate communication, coding, design, analysis, template creation, and other repetitive tasks.

Will Wu, Chief Technology Officer of Match Group, says using artificial intelligence is like “adding a pinch of magic to our daily tasks.” Wu promises that this will literally mean a “complete cultural revolution” for the company.

A Match Group spokesperson noted that the company has been using artificial intelligence for most of the recent period to strengthen trust and safety efforts, improve matching algorithms, and for various other purposes. However, integrating artificial intelligence into everything brings about a significant change for a company with astronomical power over users’ dating lives.

Earlier this month, it was reported that a man had conversations with 5,000 women on Tinder via ChatGPT. This was reported not to violate Match Group’s policies, as it encourages authenticity, a key principle of artificial intelligence.

A company spokesperson said that Match Group believes artificial intelligence will make dating better on Tinder and Match Group platforms. In fact, Match Group wants to explore creating its own AI tools that can perform tasks like writing conversation starters or suggesting date ideas.

This means the next time you’re chatting with someone on a dating app, you might find yourself asking: Are you flirting with a robot? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
